Love Our Differences.
I am a Philadelphia-based artist specializing in charcoal, colored pencil, soft pastels, and textiles. I love upcycling, fashion, photography, ethnography, and geography. My work explores self-acceptance, love, diversity, inclusion, and mental health. My style has been influenced by my black and white photography background and by my love for fashion.
Through my work, I aim to represent diversity, love, inclusion, and acceptance by embracing what makes us all unique. In my world, everybody is included and has something to offer to make life wonderful. I feel that I must be a voice for those who feel misunderstood or underrepresented. For me, art is a tool for making the world a more sensitive and caring place.
Using secondhand and recycled materials, for me, symbolizes that we are all “imperfect”, but are worthy, lovable, useful, and unique. Embracing our imperfections and giving ourselves grace can lead to making a meaningful impact on the world. Differences are what makes life worth living! We can embrace the weird stuff, make them our strengths, and know that we are always worthy of love, no matter what.
There is magic in the mess!
